Wedding Guest Style Guide

Posted by on

Hi Ladies!

We are now in one of our favourite seasons, which means it’s time to start talking about weddings and that all important outfit choice!

We have put together a style guide of our favourite looks for wedding season 2017 to help you decide. Of course for us, the handbag choice is just as important as the outfit!

Wedding Tip: If you are anything like team VVA, you love weddings and like to stay at the wedding venue or nearby whenever possible. To save some time due to those pesky check in times, which are often very close to the start of the ceremony, check in mostly ready so that once you get there you only need to make a few quick changes and then you can relax.

We take everything we need in our Dahlia of choice then all we need to do is quickly remove the front clutch and are ready to make our way down to the champagne reception!

Style Guide

Monochrome

Years ago wedding guests tended to follow two rules, never wear white and never wear black to a wedding! These rules really don’t apply anymore, with the exception of being dressed head to toe in white without the brides permission of course. In fact monochrome is becoming increasingly popular year after year and one of the most sophisticated and classy looks.

We have kept our Monochrome look below completely black and white, however there is nothing stopping you from adding a super bright statement clutch to this look.

The look: We have styled this gorgeous monochrome jumpsuit with our classic black leather Dahlia handbag. Swap the black front clutch for a cream one to continue the monochrome look or mix it up with our chevron print clutch. Of course if you prefer a smaller clutch just pop off the front clutch and you are ready to go!

Pretty Pastels

These are probably our favourite colours for Spring 2017, we just love how fresh pastel colours look especially with white. Our favourites have to be pastel blue and pastel pink, no two colour combinations are more perfect in our eyes.

The look: Our gorgeous Hydrangea Blue Dahlia and matching clutch would look gorgeous at any wedding. Whether you are wearing pastel blue or pastel pink, our calf leather Ivy clutches can easily be swapped around to create the perfect pastel combination handbag or of course using the clutch on its own!

Summer Florals

No matter how many years go by florals are one of those timeless prints that can be used over and over again every summer. At the moment the stores are filling up with floral prints for the wedding season and will continue to be popular until the end of summer. Quite often winter florals also appear shortly after summer has ended, so you really can’t go wrong with this look.

The look: One of our best-selling handbag combinations – the Off White Dahlia and Floral Ivy – is the perfect accessory when styling with a block coloured dress for a summer wedding. If you have already picked your favourite floral outfit, then we would recommend sticking to a block coloured clutch such as our gorgeous pink clutch with matching tassel below so that the look isn’t too overdone.

We will have lots more wedding related posts over the next few months so stay tuned to the VVA blog and in the meantime check out our specially curated wedding edit!

Until next time
